The X chromosome follows a narrower path than autosomal DNA. Your results here describe similarity within that pathway only.
A male receives one X chromosome from his mother only. His father contributes a Y chromosome instead. X-DNA results for males reflect maternal-side lineages, including contributions from the maternal grandmother and grandfather along specific branches of the mother's tree.
A female receives one X from each parent. The paternal X came from the father's mother (paternal grandmother). The maternal X reflects mixed ancestry from the mother's side. This still excludes many ancestral branches that autosomal DNA includes.
Important: X-Chromosome results may differ from your main ancestry report. That is expected because fewer ancestors contribute X-DNA, and admixture models distribute similarity across overlapping reference groups.
